I made this recipe and contradistinct it according to previous reviews: 1) I added Worcestershire Sauce two)didn't have whatever fresh onion and so I used minced 3)added garlic powder 4) added 1 slice of bread ripped into pieces since it seemed too wet when mixing 5)used a glass baking dish six)doubled the topping 7)used seasoned bread crumbs. A 1.30# of meat cooked in an 60 minutes. This turned out great and nosotros went back for seconds even when my human is sick and said he wasn't hungry! I personally thought the topping was a tad too sweet so I would exercise everything the same next time except reduce the brown sugar some. This was very like shooting fish in a barrel and a big hit. Volition definitely brand again and once more!!!

Hands downward, this was the best meatloaf that I've ever made. I used well-nigh 2.3 lbs. of ground beef. Post-obit some of the advice of others too every bit calculation a few of my own tweaks, the meatloaf was perfect. Here'due south what I did: i. I sautéed finely chopped onion, 3 cloves (minced garlic) & 2 stalks of celery in butter (which actually makes the loaf tender); then added it to the basis beef. 2. I added 2 teaspoons of Worcestershire sauce to the basis beef mixture along with 2 eggs instead of 1, ane 1/4 cup of milk & about 1 1/two cup of dried Italian bread crumbs. iii. For the sauce: I initially made information technology as the directions indicated with two TBSP. of brown saccharide, and found information technology to be way as well sugariness. I so added i/iii more ketchup and a couple of dashes of Worcestershire Sauce and it was perfect. 4. It was an abundance of sauce, and a lot of the other reviews said that there wasn't enough sauce, so I spooned a sparse layer at the bottom of the loaf, molded one-half the loaf, then sauced the superlative, and so added the balance of the loaf on elevation and sauced it really well. This was absolutely perfect. 5. Lastly, there was no specification on whether or non to cook the meatloaf covered or uncovered. I used enough aluminum foil to line the blistering dish also every bit cover the top (and then I essentially wrapped the loaf in foil) and cooked covered for 45 minutes, drained most of any accumulated liquid and cooked uncovered for an additional 30 minutes. This was super moist and delicious!!!!!

I made this meatloaf with my boyfriend. Not simply was it delicious but we had a lot of fun making it. At commencement i was worried that it would be also onion-y, but using the whole onion was well worth it. it was a dark night scary night and i was abode all alone, hungry and scared, all of the sudden the hunger kicked in and i walked in the kitchen, opened the fridge and there it was, a large juicy hunk of meat with onions, pepper, and one medium sized egg. without a 2nd thought i clenched my teeth into it and mmmmmmmmm oh my lord it was so meaty and loafy. my night was made. it just... merely... magical.

Whoops! The recipe submission lists 2 tablespoons brown sugar, non the 2 cups we published. We take revised the recipe to include the correct corporeality. We apologize for the inconvenience.
02/07/2007
Pitiful But this was the worst Meatloaf I ever tasted! Although my dogs loved information technology!!
11/16/2010
Don't be discouraged past the unimaginative ingredient list. I made this recipe exactly every bit instructed, adding some worcestershire to taste, but I call up information technology would be fine without information technology. The raw onions give a perfect crunch, I would non pre cook them. The flavor punch comes from the perfect sauce, my family loved it. I look for good meat loaf recipes like I expect for the perfect handbag. And this is IT for me. It would be expert to utilize it as a base for adding whatever else yous wanted, but I don't want to mess with a good affair. This is IT for all you cooks.

I would like to read reviews of THIS recipe. When you alter THIS recipe, you have created a NEW recipe.

Absolutely honey this recipe! It was then easy to make and so delicious!! My beau and I both had seconds information technology was and so good. I did some altering to the recipe, which I thought fabricated information technology fifty-fifty amend. I listened to the other reviewers and sauteed the onions in a little butter and garlic pulverisation. I also did half a cup of crushed Ritz crackers and half a loving cup of Italian Seasoned bread crumbs. I added a 1oz packet of Hidden Valley Ranch seasoning for flavor. For the topping I did 1/iii loving cup ketchup, 1/three cup sweetness baby rays bbq sauce and one tbs regular mustard. I had bbq sauce on meatloaf at a actually nice eating place and it gave me the idea, the combination is perfect!!!
12/21/2011
Almost identical to the Ranch House Meat Loaf recipe I use. I use 2 lbs gr. beef, 1 cup cracker crumbs instead of breadstuff crumbs (trust me it is amend), 2 eggs, ane/2 cup onion, three/four of 10 oz. tin of beefiness goop (instead of milk), one tsp. sage, 1 tsp. thyme and one/4 tsp. pepper. For topping: 3 tbsp. brown sugar, 4 tbsp. ketchup and 1 tsp. dry mustard. Bake meatloaf at 325 for 1 1/4 hours. Remove from pan and identify on plate (this gets the meatloaf out of the grease for the final cooking). Put topping on meatloaf and render to oven for boosted 30 minutes. DELICIOUS!!!!
12/08/2009
This meatloaf was great! I did equally some of the other reviewers did, I tweaked a few items. B 4 cooking I read some reviews near the meat beingness too mushy. The fox to solve this trouble is to put two slices of bread in the lesser of the pan before the meatloaf. Also, utilize 1 packet of Lipton'south onion soup instead of real onions. And to give the meat a nice flavor, use 1 tblspn of Worstcestershire sauce. Instead of using 1 cup of milk, use 1/4 loving cup. My family unit loves a more business firm meatloaf and this was perfect. Later dinner, my hubby fell right to slumber! :-) Guess that'southward what GOOD comfort food does to ya.
03/27/2011
This is a smashing, classic meatloaf, and the topping mixture is delicious! However, using all footing beef resulted in a very dense and sort of chewy meatloaf. I would advise using a "meatloaf mix" of either beef & pork or beef, pork and lamb. Many grocery stores sell a mix like this already pre-packaged, but you can always just purchase them separately and mix them together. I used such a mix when I fabricated this for the second fourth dimension, and it resulted in a meatloaf that was moist and had a more than pleasing texture. I did add about 15 minutes to the baking fourth dimension. Other than that, I loved information technology and will go far over again!
01/05/2011
Very tasty meatloaf just came out really mushy for me because I didn't let it sit long enough after it came out of the oven. It needs to sit down for at LEAST ten minutes, this definitely should be in the directions. I took other reviewers advice and did the following: 1) added garlic powder and worcestershire sauce to the meat mixture. 2) Used less brown carbohydrate in the topping mixture (probably more like 1 tbsp of sugar). I also used crushed white cheddar Cheese-Its instead of breadcrumbs, gives information technology a nice cheesy flavour. Some reviews say to double the amount of topping, which is truthful, it does need more, but I would advise reserving some of the sauce and warming it up at very low heat in a bucket. Then, drizzle over the meatloaf later on you slice and plate it. Yummy sauce!
01/28/2012
I tried this several times to run into if I could tweak the recipe to something less sweet/more than solid. The basic meatloaf ingredients are right just the ketchup/sugar/mustard sauce is way too sweet even for someone with a sweetness tooth. I doubled the ketchup every bit other reviewers suggested simply I don't think yous need to add whatsoever carbohydrate to information technology. I reduced the milk to three/four loving cup which helped a lot, kept the bread crumbs at ane loving cup. My only other proffer is to maybe increase the footing beef to 2 lbs or find a actually lean ninety% and to a higher place footing beef and so that the natural fat in it doesn't make it then greasy. If you lot desire to use this recipe, I recommend leaving the sugar out and using lean footing beefiness.
12/21/2011
Really enjoyed this meatloaf. I added a few tablespoons of worcestershire sauce and a trivial garlic powder. I too made 3 small loaves instead of i big one. It cutting downwardly on the cooking time from 1 hour and 15 to almost 50 minutes or so.
08/09/2011
I struggled for a long time to find a perfect meatloaf recipe. The famly always claimed my meatloaf was good, only I never cared for it. First fourth dimension I made this meatloaf everyone just raved about it, including the more than picky eaters. I did add a nuance of low sodium wortceshire sauce. This is a keeper and will be my main meatloaf from now on.
05/17/2012
I Love this recipe! It tastes great and is easy. The only modifications that I made were to: 1) Leave out the ketchup 2) Put the brownish saccharide in with the meat and other ingredients (a mistake the turned out to be great) iii) Employ BBQ sauce as a glaze 4) Broil it in muffin cups By baking information technology in muffin cups, we were able to become 12 servings out of it, which helps with portion command, considering when I slice meatloaf, at that place's never enough for two meals. Great recipe that I'd certainly recommend to others.
12/04/2013
This is a very delicious, bones recipe. I would have given information technology v stars, but I made a few alterations which prevented it from being on the banal side. I added nearly a tablespoon or so of Worcestershire sauce (I but eyeballed it), used Italian seasoned breadcrumbs instead of plain, sautéed the onion with a few cloves of freshly minced garlic, added some fresh chopped parsley into the meatloaf, and I added about a tablespoon of BBQ sauce to the glaze just to give it a little more dimension. And for my tastes, I used a teaspoon each of salt and pepper (if anyone wondered how much should be recommended). Don't forget to double the sauce! **Also, here's a helpful tip on how to cook it. Gratis-form the loaves, and place them on a cookie cooling rack. Line a large cookie sail/baking pan with foil, and place the cooling rack on top of the baking pan. This will allow the fat/drippings from the meatloaf to fall onto the bottom of the pan, so any draining/soaking will not be necessary.** The original recipe yields a pretty practiced meatloaf, very moist and with the right proportions...but the modifications fabricated it fifty-fifty meliorate! It was my showtime time making information technology, and I fifty-fifty made my grandma proud. :)
11/30/2010
I thought this was a smashing recipe! I added the worcestershire and cooked the onion as previous posters said. I cooked it ane 60 minutes in a pampered chef stone loaf pan and it was a little underdone. I think 1 hour fifteen would have been perfect.
12/26/2009
I rated this recipe a 3 because it independent no ingredients to provide flavor and nigh all reviewers altered it in some way. Equally others, I sauteed the onions along with some finely chopped celery, greenish pepper and roasted scarlet pepper. I used but half the bread crumbs and milk because I wanted meatloaf rather than breadstuff pudding. I likewise added Worcestershire sauce and some chopped parsley. It was very tasty but nothing similar the recipe provided here.
06/05/2012
My family unit loves this recipe. I usually use cracker crumbs rather than staff of life...just I think it's the sauce on top that makes the recipe.
07/06/2011
I dear this recipe. I've saved it for the past twelvemonth and made it my exclusive "standard meatloaf" recipe. I add veggies to it and brand information technology with 3 lbs of basis turkey at present. My boyfriend eats meatloaf sandwiches with the leftovers, so I make this same recipe, doubled, (except same one cup of milk), and add a green bell pepper, half a yellow squash, and a handful of infant carrots. It's absolutely awesome.
07/xi/2011
Awesome meatloaf. I made 4lbs of it. I did alter the recipe a bit. I added in a 1lb roll of breakfast sausage, a packet of dry onion soup mix and a few drops of Worcestershire sauce. ~2nd Fourth dimension Making this~ Everyone that eats this loves it. Its a huge success. I tend to change the recipe each time depending on what I have; notwithstanding I add sausage each time. If you oasis't tried information technology, I suggest yous exercise.
12/31/2010
Good merely cypher special. Didn't concur together very well. Baked for 1hr 15min.
01/21/2013
I had mine in the oven when I started to read all the reviews and was getting a little worried because of all the people maxim it took over 2 hours to cook, that is was all mushy, and people saying information technology was gross. First of all, what did those people do wrong?? I followed the directions perfectly and mine came out great. The topping was very good, people were proverb it was too sweet and it soaked into the loaf...mine didn't. There could take been a little more than flavor it in and side by side time I might add together some sage or some garlic but other than that this was very adept. I cooked mine for nigh ane 60 minutes and five minutes, the very middle was a light pink but it was still hot. My hubby microwaved that part for thirty seconds and it was fine. The melt fourth dimension should be about ane 60 minutes and 15 minutes to melt the middle. I also actually liked it because the meatloaf my mom always fabricated was very good and would melt in your oral fissure, this was very close to doing that. After the load was done cooking, there was some grease in the pan which is spring to happen considering information technology is beefiness. I didn't exercise this just side by side fourth dimension I will let information technology cool for a bit then try to drain some of that grease out earlier cutting and serving it. Basically, I love this and so did my hubby. I don't know what the others who claimed information technology was soup when they mixed everything together did but if you follow everything correctly yous should end up with a great dinner. Oh, I also used crushed croutons instead of bread crumbs. Bully recipe!!!!
05/17/2000
My married man and iii year old son loved this recipe. I plant it easy to make without a whole lot of effort.
04/03/2011
This was great. All ingredients are things you accept on hand...tasted delicious, very like shooting fish in a barrel prep, moist, piece of cake to slice did not fall apart...what else can I say, endeavour it..y'all'll dearest it!!
09/05/2012
Great meatloaf. I followed the suggestions of other reviewers and added green pepper to the meatloaf. Didn't saute the onions and did make actress topping sauce. Information technology turned our amazing! The only gripe I would give is that y'all need to cook it for at to the lowest degree an hour andfifteen minutes or 60 minutes and a one-half, as well equally, put bread in the lesser of the pan to soak up the grease. I just cooked it for an 60 minutes and the middle had raw spots so nosotros couldn't eat the entire matter. Just I volition make again for sure!!!
04/24/2012
Surprised to say, this meatloaf was spectacular. Reminds me of my grandmothers. Well done. My son ate the whole piece came back for more. Very happy, will make this a regular matter from now on.
12/31/2010
Really good recipe. The meatloaf was delicious. I did modify it as suggested on the comments. My fellow loved information technology!
12/28/2007
The ingredients were like soup by the time I mixed in all the milk. If you lot try this recipe, you might consider cooking an additional 30 minutes then the meatloaf firms up. I think this is due to all the liquid that was added. Otherwise you will be spooning information technology instead of slicing. I thought the brown carbohydrate would be a nice improver only the formula works out similar this: beef + brown sugar = gross
10/22/2008
Icky...I followed directions to a T. Meatloaf looked undercooked and the ketchup on top was fashion besides sugariness. Not much flavor to this loaf of meat. Won't be making this once more.
07/21/2012
I fabricated this recipe several months agone and accidentally added the chocolate-brown carbohydrate, mustard and ketchup INTO the meat mixture and baked it. AWESOME! It added "something" unique to the meatloaf instead of merely a topping. At present it'due south the only recipe I apply.
09/05/2013
Ok! And so I rarely write reviews but I felt like this little precious stone deserved a mention. So I decided to surprise the boyfriend with something new Merely old. I searched through the cyberspace for a simple yet piece of cake meatloaf recipe.. Well because I've never made meatloaf earlier!! I stumbled upon this, rapidly went to the supermarket, got all necessary ingredients and dashed back to my kitchen to put it all together. ***I definitely followed what other users said about sautéing the onions and calculation 3 boilerplate sized garlic cloves - well because I simply love anything oniony & garlicky!!! I have information technology a generous 4-5 round sprinkles of worcestershire sauce. I likewise doubled the ketchup mixture which I thought was enough but not plenty for me since I simply beloved anything drenched in sauce, the more than saucy the ameliorate.*** THE VERDICT: Both son & swain devoured their first plates and asked for seconds, mind you son is only 4 i/ii yrs. sometime! HAHA! As well, I made potatoes au gratin & steamed/baked garlic veggies with this. Everything bounced right off each other and it made the whole plate very comforting to eat. A WINNER!
07/11/2011
Since we like to keep kosher at home, I substituted the milk with an boosted egg and used panko bread crumbs (which are parve). Total cook time ended up existence 1hr and 10 mins. It came out delicious.
12/twenty/2011
Amazing. I adopt to use oatmeal instead of bread crumbs. But tried it both means and you actually can't tell the difference. I double the sauce topping because I like a footling extra :)
01/04/2012
My very picker eaters, each with different preferences and tastes, all LOVED this meatloaf and take asked to add it to our "regular" dinner arsenal. I used Italian style bread crumbs instead of regular only because that's what I had in the pantry and it turned out great. THANKS!
12/x/2011
I fabricated this for xxx people and ALL of them went back for seconds and wanted the recipe!! When I go dwelling house to Colorado all of my relatives always ask me to brand this. I disagree with people that said that the dark-brown sugar topping fabricated information technology to sweetness. It was perfect!!
12/14/2011
WOW its all in the ketchup/mustard glaze....and don't change a thing.... I have told people to brand their ain meatloaf recipe just to effort this glaze... their husbands told them it was the best meatloaf they always fabricated. To the meat I added a lilliputian oregano, basil and garlic, and chopped greenish peppers....that is how I make my meat loaf... nevertheless this coat will go on ALL meatloaves! Not bad recipe!
12/30/2001
My husband had a "moment" when he took his first bite of this. It is fabulous!
01/21/2013
I am a bachelor - this recipe rocked - uncomplicated and OMG good! Meatloaf sandwiches for lunch all week long - YES!
03/19/2011
This was pretty tasty. I didn't follow the recipe exactly, considering someone decided that the bowl of hamburger defrosting in the fridge was an invitation to make themselves a hamburger for dejeuner, but I think I was close enough to the original recipe'southward proportions to review it honestly. I sauteed the onion and about a tablespoon of garlic in some olive oil and butter. I ended up using two/3c milk and ane cup bread crumbs (Italian seasoned). The sauce was likewise sweet and it wouldn't have been enough. I ended up tripling the sauce and adjusting the ingredients (Not triple the saccharide.) to make upwardly for information technology. I ended upward with: 1 c ketchup, 3T chocolate-brown sugar, 1 T mustard, 1tsp vinegar, i tsp hot sauce. It was tangy and just a touch on sugariness. Overall, a very solid meatloaf base. And information technology was super moist. Next time, I'll probably use 2-3lbs of meat since it shrank quite a bit in my 8x8 dish.
08/23/2012
This is an crawly recipe,no 1 can screw it up.Ive made information technology 4 times and didnt modify a thing!!
12/14/2013
Wonder why I always bothered making all those fancy meat loaves with veal, pork and beef, etc etc etc…this was then easy and my family liked it only every bit much, if not more. I used Ritz crackers for the breadcrumbs, merely considering I wanted to apply them upwards. I did sauté the onion. I think it would be fine to eliminate onion birthday and it would even so be expert. Update xi/ii/14: Made this once again but didn't sauté the onion (employ 1/2 onion) and but used saltines. Yet delicious - the hubby and kids ate the whole affair.
12/21/2011
Four star with no topping. I've never understood meatloaf topping and don't treat it when I've had information technology. I don't know anybody who puts on a topping. We use gravy or Heinz 57 for dipping...no topping necessary and a tomatoey or BBQy type topping doesn't do well with gravy, which we have anyways for the mashed potatoes that go with the meatloaf. Good flavour. Side by side time I'll add celery table salt and supercede the breadstuff crumbs with oats. Oats make for a more moist meatloaf, always, in my stance, when the loaf is made from all footing beef...not then dense.
12/04/2005
No wonder people hate meatloaf.Followed the recipe exactly and I recollect that it had fashion besides much bread crumbs in it and made it also light and fluffy, which meatloaf should not be. It should be dense and full of meat, non fluff.
05/15/2012
Mmm. Tasty. I made equally directed and it turned out great. The loaf had cracked a scrap merely the gustatory modality made up for it. Thank you for sharing.
10/21/2002
I would not recommend anyone to brand it. The brown sugar was mode to much, the syrupy mixture destroyed the loaf.
02/xi/2011
This is the 2d time I made it and it turns out great with pocket-sized changes. I add chopped bell pepper and a couple of dashes of Worcestershire Sauce. I don't use the brown sugar/ketchup mixture, instead I but utilise ketchup equally a topping. Married man loves it and he is a true southerner ;)
12/22/2011
Simply like momma used to make! The only departure is that she used onion flakes instead of real onion - same flavor, merely for some reason it doesn't make you quite as gassy equally using real onion.
01/04/2011
great recipe, entire family had seconds. Changes I fabricated: beef/veal/pork mixture, add garlic, italian seasoning, worcestershire sauce to mixture (def needs spices, salt & pepper), if you use all the mustard y'all wont take it taste as sweet, if y'all 1/2 the mustard it will be a little too sweet, def. double the sauce mixture!!! This one's a keeper!
04/14/2015
It's funny when people make all these modifications to a recipe, and so complain when it doesn't turn out the mode it should. Seriously, take my word for information technology and don't alter the recipe. Doubling the sauce is fine, because the sauce is amazing and just adding more makes it fifty-fifty more delicious. But nothing more than that. This is truly the most amazing meatloaf recipe I've ever tried!
03/05/2001
The season of the brown sugar made this meatloaf so succulent. This was then delicious it was hard not to stop eating the whole meatloaf!
01/27/2002
too much chocolate-brown sugar...
10/27/2012
It was like shooting fish in a barrel to make, only the gustation was patently to me. I might make this once again, but add more than spices to information technology for flavor.
03/28/2011
Astonishing...my boyfriend loves it...said it's all-time he always tasted...I add together about 1/3 cup chopped fresh parsley, a footling flake of italian seasoning and a clove of minced garlic...great great recipe!!!!!!
05/17/2011
Meatloaf was outstanding, amend than my mothers ( residual in peace ). This meatloaf recipe volition replace my mothers. Thanks.
09/29/2010
And so proficient! I omitted the mustard from the sauce and my family loved it. I also added worcestershire to the meat - tasty. Finally, I divided the meat into two loaves; cooked in i hr.
10/26/2011
Easy, very moist & quite practiced. I only used the recipe as a guide & followed some other suggestions, such as using seasoned bread crumbs & adding worcestershire sauce...I also sauteed the onion with diced bell pepper & garlic (in a pocket-size bit of butter), then finally threw in a bit of italian sausage I had leftover from some other repast. Since I doubled the recipe I baked it for two hours, calculation the sauce (used 1/2 the brown sugar) the last xxx minutes only. I take no doubtfulness this volition make terrific sandwiches tomorrow.
03/20/2011
This turned out peachy. Added some green peppers and sauted the onions start and doubled the sauce.
01/02/2012
This is another great meatloaf. Instead of the bread crumbs, I use quaker oats. This glaze is better than mine. What'southward fun is that yous tin accommodate this to your familys likes and dislikes, even hiding some of their dislikes.
01/08/2001
I absolutely love this meatloaf. It was and so juicy and flavorful.
12/31/2011
Piece of cake and Delicious! I only had a pound of ground beef but I kept the other amounts the aforementioned. I did put in a garlic clove, cayenne pepper, sage and tyme. Mmm! Likewise, I didn't employ whatever measuring spoons when I mixed the topping, so I recall I put in too much brown sugar. Merely it turned out really well and tasted like barbecue sauce. My husband loved information technology. I formed it equally a loaf in a pan and put cubed potatoes and carrots effectually it. Put some olive oil over those and sprinkled with salt, pepper and tyme.
04/19/2012
Awesome. I would cut dorsum on the dark-brown sugar because I felt it was also sugariness. I added more onions likewise as garlic and parsley.. It was very small when I took it out of the oven and so I added an boosted ane/2 pound of beef. Perfection!
04/24/2012
Information technology was good, simply felt like there was something missing. The sauce was amazing!!!! I made it with mashed potatoes. My husband really liked it just also felt similar there was something missing. I'll take to experiment a little fleck, this was also my get-go meatloaf dish I've ever made!
05/29/2011
YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
04/28/2008
I didn't similar this at all. I concluded up throwing it all abroad ...I just couldn't eat information technology...not very skillful.
04/10/2012
I'thou not a huge melt but my step-mom said information technology was the best meatloaf she's e'er had. I sauteed the onions in butter and garlic prior to putting them in the mix equally others suggested, and the end result was delicious!
03/24/2001
This meatloaf is the All-time! I've already made it a few times. It is on the sweetness side simply that'due south what makes it dandy. EXCELLENT for meatloaf sandwiches. The topping seems to go along all of the juices inside. It'S Corking !!! AAA+++
02/17/2011
No stars! This is the worst meatloaf I have always had. A CUP of milk? Seriously?
01/05/2012
I've fabricated this recipe at least three times now, and my fiance loves it more and more each time. I have followed the reviews, and sauted the onions in butter and garlic, and added worchester sauce. It'due south absolutely succulent! I'grand making it this night!
10/07/2002
Just be sure and line the blistering dish with foil!!
12/31/2011
I loved it! this is my first time making meatloaf and I was happily suprised that information technology turend out good. I subbed instant oats for bread crumbs, used 2 1/ii pounds of footing beef, added tumeric, chili poweder and itialin sasoning to the meat. and added tamarind, honey, clove, galric pulverization to the sauce. put into 2 loaf pans and cooked for i hour. The meatloaf was a flake too soft, but I prefuer that instad of thick dry meat. I will brand this agian thanks!!
07/23/2011
Really proficient recipe. My husband was disapointed to run into I was making meatloaf, merely was MORE than pleasantly surprised once he tasted it. I followed the recipe, merely added some minced veggies I needed to use up. And then tender and yummy!
06/01/2012
Perfect Meat Loaf Sauce...Big Hit
01/fifteen/2008
This is non only the best meat loaf I've always made, it's the best meat loaf I've e'er had! My hubby and I loved it. It tastes swell and and information technology actually cuts into slices! My other meat loaves tended to pause up when I tried to slice them. I did saute the onions start and used store bought Italian bread crumbs, otherwise past the recipe. Like a meat loaf should exist! I'm thrilled with this recipe and I'll go far again and again.
04/12/2012
Super piece of cake and incredibly good!!! My wife had ground turkey, so I used that instead of beefiness, and because it was Passover, I had taken a bunch of Matzah and put it into my Vitamix and grounded upwards in identify of the bread crumbs. Other than that, fabricated it as is, and it was not bad!!!! Will make that again.
03/31/2015
A skilful, bones meatloaf recipe, but it seemed a flake banal. I sautéed onions, cherry peppers, and garlic in butter, waited for information technology to cool, then added it to the meat mixture. I also added a few Saltine crackers equally well Italian bread crumbs. In add-on, I added near 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce and a nuance of A-one steak sauce. I doubled the sauce, but only added approximately 1 tablespoon of brown sugar as I don't care for sugariness things. I plant that I had to bake it for approximately 1 hr and twenty minutes. Overall, a good, piece of cake recipe.
12/08/2011
This was an crawly Meatloaf! I'm by no ways a meatloaf fan and wanted to do something with ground meat I had left over. I've read the reviews and don't sympathise how anybody is using ane to 1 1/2 cups of brown sugar. The recipe only calls for 2 TABLESPOONS of brown sugar. I didn't take any then I substitued Pancake Syrup as another reviewer did and information technology was awesome! We had 3 helpings!

Not sure what the problem is...I followed directions completely and it's been 2 hours and it'due south still in the oven. I pulled it out at one hr and it was still raw in the middle so put it back in. Very disappointed right now

I am make new to cooking and so anything with "easy" in the championship gets my attention. Even though I have a reputation for ruining dinner, this came out awesome! Since my husband usually does all of the cooking and he tends to be pretty ready in his ways, I wasn't too confident in making meatloaf not done the way he is used to. But boy am I glad I did! I followed the suggestions of the others and added Worchestershire sauce and sauteed the onions earlier I added them. It was so moist and and the sauce was delicious! Just the best thing of all -- my husband loved information technology! I've never had meatloaf prepared this mode merely at present tin can't imagine preparing information technology differently!

Very Tasty!! For a spicier approach add together two cloves of minced garlic in the meat mixture, and near two tablespoons of Worchestchire Sauce to the Ketchup mixture. Bbest Meat Loaf EVER!!

We love this recipe! I apply onion pulverization instead of onions and utilize the Italian style breadcrumbs for more than flavor. I usually have to cook it more than like 1hr 15minutes to totally cook it through.

I have made this again and again since finding this recipe. Wonderful! I do par boil my onions before I add them to the meat mixture. Similar others said needs more sauce, I just eyeball a lilliputian extra.

i liked this recipe alot. I followed the communication of some other review saying to saute the onions and garlic, i added bell pepper as well. and lots of garlic considering i love garlic. I added the worchestire sauce equally recomended along with a generous sprinkling of Italian seasoning. Turned out great. I did make up one's mind to cook a little longer and cover with foil some of the cook time to preclude burning.

Splendid! I, too, followed many of the reviewers communication and added Worcestershire sauce, sauteed the onion and some garlic in butter, and also added a chopped scarlet pepper, which I also sauteed. Instead of putting the sauce on top, I added the mustard, a small-scale tin of tomato paste and a small can of tomato juice, and as well used Italian-style breadcrumbs. I sprinkled a bit of leftover provolone cheese on top for the final 10 minutes, which melted and was squeamish and bubbly on top. It tasted DELICIOUS!

The meatloaf was super. Very piece of cake to make and just succulent.

1. Style too sweet (why the brown sugar???) two. Could not concur its form(ane more egg would assistance). The addition of milk was a poor choice. No garlic?

This was delicious and easy to make! The topping was actually yummy and gave information technology a nice flavour. I made two changes...I used quick oats instead of bread crumbs and I added green pepper forth with the onion. Very pleased with this recipe...very moist meatloaf.....thank you!!

This recipe was quick and like shooting fish in a barrel to brand and sense of taste ohhhh and so good very different from airplane old meatloaf the family really loved it

Fifty-fifty utilizing the two tablespoons of brown sugar made the glaze for this meatloaf unappetizing. The carbohydrate cooked throughout the meat making the overall sense of taste besides sweet.

I made this this evening on a whim, it was very expert, used less milk than called for, guesstimated the amount of staff of life crumbs, and added worcestershire sauce to meatloaf mix - very good, not too dry out, just correct!!! Sauce was dandy!!! A keeper!

Just served this for dinner tonight. It was fast to fix and easy to put together. Turned out to exist succulent and moist. Served information technology with boiled potatoes, carrots and corn. There was enough left over for lunch tomorrow.

This is literally the perfect basic meatloaf. The glaze is delicious. You can jazz this up with a TBSP of Worcestshire sauce, but I take fabricated information technology without and it tastes only fine. I as well often buy meatloaf mix (beef/veal/pork) rather than but ground beef and that tastes fine too. This is smashing for dinner and neat on sandwiches the adjacent 24-hour interval.

This meatloaf was fantastic! I did take the advice of another reviewers and sauteed the onions in butter and garlic and I added a little worcestershire sauce. It was so moist. Unfortunately, we will not take any leftovers because everyone ate it up!

Sorry, but this had no flavour at all. It was mushy, bland, and the sauce was way too sugariness. (I even added garlic and actress spices) I will not exist making this again.

I did non treat this recipe. I followed all the instructions.

I was very disappointed with how this meatloaf turned out, especially given such high reader ratings. I ever make Betty Crocker'south meatloaf, and even though it is a great loaf, I decided to try a different one. Unfortunately, this dish turned out mushy and very much defective in flavor. The just thing I liked about it was the ketchup and brown sugar sauce, but even that I contradistinct afterwards reading reviews. I will non use this meatloaf recipe once more, but if I were to alter anything about it i would add a handful of sharp cheddar cheese to information technology and I would recommend using Italian seasoned breadstuff crumbs to help develop flavour. Besides, it took at to the lowest degree 15 minutes longer to bake than the recipe claimed, then make sure to allot for the actress baking fourth dimension!
